Tissue Paper, Veggie Oil and Salt

Since recylcing helps make the world a better place, part of the Girl Scout promise, I taught the kids that when we use our resources wisely we contribute to helping make a peaceful world. The children decorated used (but cleaned) blueberry cartons with tissue paper and glue. While letting the boxes dry I read a dozen quotes about peace that we, later, inserted into the boxes. Below are pictures of this project:






After completing the peace boxes, the children mixed flour, salt, veggie oil, water, and food coloring (their choice between pink, yellow, blue and green) to make play dough. Their favorite part was kneading the ingredients to make this playful stress reliever! Pictures below:
